What I achieved in this space

A customer was up for renewal of their Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (20K seats across various user categories) and wanted to move from E3 to E5 to strengthen security and modern workplace capabilities. Microsoft pushed for a full, immediate shift to E5, which would have doubled cost and left many features unused for years.

My role was to secure the right commercial outcome while ensuring the organization could actually adopt the new capabilities and retire overlapping products.

I aligned requirements and adoption readiness with IT and the Cybersecurity teams, mapped which E5 capabilities would be deployed when, and built a negotiation strategy around phased value realization. I negotiated an annual step-up mechanism from E3 to E5, tied to implementation progress, while maintaining strong governance and clear decision points for each year.

Result

The customer avoided paying for shelfware, locked in the benefits of volume discounts over time, and created a realistic adoption path where security features were implemented and legacy tools could be retired in a controlled way.
